I was so excited when Dr Phil told me I was going to be working with the Close To My Heart Frosted Workshop on the Go! I love snowflakes.
I thought this would be a perfect chance to create some Gender Reveal Banners for my photography business since it has both pink and blue. I started with the My Creations Mini Banner that was the special for June. It has 10 pieces, but I just used 5 on this one. I specifically chose these pieces because of their shape. The triangle and had edge shapes are more masculine than the rounded cornered ones. I distressed the edges with two different brown inks and the Round Sponge. Then, I cut out the papers and adhered them to the Banner pieces. The Mini Banner came with some rings to attach all the pieces, but I like the look of the twine better.
The first piece is home to two tiny words and a felt rose from the Workshop on the Go kit. I punched two circled scallops from one of the cardstock papers for the words to rest on. I love the Trinity Stamp set because it has 3 different sizes of Alphas!
On the middle banner piece I added a piece of the border to give the project some variety.
The final piece has an exclamation point and another felt rose
And, now for the girl banner. This was a little more tricky because of all the frilly edged banner pieces. I also had one more letter, but the same amount of banner pieces. Instead of fussy cutting all the frilly edges, I just used a simple triangle. Again, I inked the banner pieces with a pink and then distressed the edges with a black ink.
To solve the extra letter problem, I made a pennant with some of the cardstock and a wooden stick to give me more surface space to work with.
For the middle piece I again did something different for variety. This is back side of the cream paper shown on the other two frilly triangle pieces.
And, again, I used some of the pretty felt flowers from the collection.
These felt roses are self adhesive. You pull them off the plastic it comes on and stick it to your project. Easy!
I loved the twine on this banner too.
